Take the Initiative and get Involved

I have been meeting quite a few transfer students recently and I am impressed with what an eclectic group of students they are. Transfer students come from everywhere and study everything. I worry that we assume that because transfers are skilled compared to freshmen that  they are neglected. My advice is take the intiative! Ask questions! Get involved! Build mentoring relationships with your faculty.  Join a student organization …or better yet START ONE. Not only will it look great on your resume but you will benefit from the expereince. Fall 2011 here we come.
